Baby Hog is something new to me. I've not heard this phrase and wasn't quite sure whether it is a complement. I first heard this phrase applied tp me this last Sunday (Easter). I had decided to work in the nursery at church. It was Easter and busy in the nursery and decided the extra volunteer was needed. Besides my granddaughter was there and honestly, I wanted to keep an eye on her care.
It was when the service was over I was called a Baby Hog by who I am not quite sure. I asked someone and I was told take it as a compliment; and so I did. I have since discovered it is meant to be mean. This is very painful to me. I offer to work in the nursery on one of the busiest Sunday's and I am called something mean because I care about my granddaughter and felt it was the families place to be part of the service.
Today Wednesday I called to see I could drop by for a visit and take them to lunch. I was told great. I was dumbfounded to find I was not to hold my granddaughter or play with her during the entire time. My presence was shunned immediately after lunch.
When did it become a problem that children can only have so much love and any extra tossed away? This whole experience is very painful to me. Children are not to be used as a carrot and stick approach! If I have hurt anyone's fellings or made an err this is not constructive.
I now have pulled away. I can not be allowed to love my grandbaby in a helter skelter way.
